The Goodwill Connection

In 2010 Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana created the Excel Center, with the unique goal of creating diploma granting charter high schools for adults. Twelve years later, the program is expanding rapidly across the country with Goodwill sponsored locations in Indiana, Texas, Tennessee and Washington DC. More than 10k students have graduated and the number is growing quickly.

In March 2021, Goodwill of the Finger Lakes and Urban League of Rochester entered a partnership to bring an Excel Center to Rochester, NY. With legislative support from Senator Cooney and Assemblyman Bronson, an initial draft of legislation was read in January of 2022 and referred to the State Education Department. Over the course of 2022, the partnership has been working in cooperation with the education department to bring this project closer to reality.

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes and Urban League of Rochester have a rich history of bringing life changing mission to our community, positively impacting thousands of lives within our community. Our Excel partnership brings together two dynamic nonprofit organizations, with one purpose; simply, to serve.

It is time to Excel.
